AUST

Photography by Pavo Marinović

A monolithic design, the Aust stool is an imposing piece that structures the space it occupies. Its unique patina interacts elegantly with light, achieved through meticulous hand-polishing and burnishing of the steel. The outcome is a piece that embodies an ancient and uncompromisingly industrial character, showcasing distinctive qualities of materiality and both imperfections and finely crafted details.

The Aust stool is currently on view at GSL Gallery, Pantin, France, as part of the permanent display.

GEN

Photography by Pavo Marinović

The Gen sofa is distinguishable for its association of both sophisticated and raw finishings. The seat was upholstered by artisan Laurence Raverdeau in her Parisian atelier, using Italian cowhides sourced from Spinneybeck, a renowned supplier of exceptional leather. Crafted from upcycled cowhide, the Gen sofa comes in a unique dark brown color that harmoniously matches the natural patina of the supporting steel beams. Meticulously arranged on top, the varnished oak beams complete an ensemble that echoes the making of ancient Japanese beds. With its pare-back design, the Gen sofa bestows a dialogue between modernist lines and delicate contrasts.

CHIGAI

Photography by Pavo Marinović

The Chigai table allies the elegance of lacquer as well as the sophistication of glass to the conveniency of a self-assembly piece. The slabs, which are removable, come in a distinctive dark mahogany color that harmoniously matches the supporting glass panels. Pierced by stainless steel sticks, the latter bestow great depth to the ensemble as the intensity of their bronze color increases from one panel to another. Supervised by artisan Alexander Raczka, the metal joinery guarantees the solidity of a delicate self-assembly design.

ASYMPHA

Photography by Pavo Marinović

Drawing their inspiration from the furniture of monasteries, the Asympha side tables are made of sculpted solid French beech. Revealing distinctive natural veins, one table comes stained and varnished, whilst the second one is coated in an off-white colour covered with high-gloss lacquer. To ensure a modest yet delicate design, the legs are jointed in the table top utilizing limited adhesives.

The Asympha side table was on view at GSL Gallery, Pantin, France, on the occasion of Le Salon de Septembre 15.09—15.11.2023, curated by founder John Whelan and designer Edgar Jayet.
